Aéropostale Joins Global Citizen NOW in Mission to Take Action

Global Citizen NOW returned to New York City for its third annual two-day conference, bringing together the world’s brightest minds, most influential decision makers and biggest names to create a global agenda for urgent action.

The summit, held last week at the Glasshouse, was attended by the likes of Hugh Jackman, Doug Emhoff and Padma Lakshmi, who spoke about the organization’s mission to end extreme poverty.

Taking Action With Fashion

Front and center during the summit’s second day of programming was Global Citizen and Aéropostale’s Take Action apparel collection.

SPARC Group EVP, Head of Marketing - Aéropostale, Nautica, Lucky Brand Michael DeLellis joined Global Citizen VP of Global Marketing Prisca Sánchez on stage to introduce the capsule through a dynamic fashion show, inspiring confidence in the next generation and empowering them to unlock their influence through taking action.

The 15-piece collection includes eco-conscious, trendy and gender-neutral garments designed to resonate with the spirit of activism, and each item features a QR code that drives consumers to the Take Action platform, encouraging them to make an impact and be a part of the change.

The collection is the second installment of the Take Action collaboration as a part of Global Citizen’s four-year partnership with Authentic Brands Group.

The Power of the Voice

The summit also featured the Young Artists Collective, a platform for youth artists to showcase their talents and drive action on the most pressing issues globally.

The platform’s spring 2024 edition included the work of more than 50 dedicated graphic design students from public universities across the U.S. Each artist in the cohort was challenged to capture the importance of voting on a poster from their own unique perspective, sans political bias.

Authentic team members including SVP, People and Culture Keili Glynn, SVP, PR and Communications Haley Steinberg, VP, Corporate Communications Samantha McDonald and Associate Manager, Corporate Communications Rachel Haseley were also in attendance.
